An Unforgettable experience in Shimla

I and my partner couldn’t go for a honeymoon after marriage because of personal problems. Its an Unforgettable experience in Shimla When things improved after a couple of months, we decided to plan a honeymoon trip.
We inquired from a couple of travel agencies, but none met our requirements. Then, a friend of mine suggested Rajput Holidays. After a free consultation with a travel consultant at Rajput Holidays, we came to know that they also create customized packages. Since the package offered matched our budget, we thought of giving it a shot.
The itinerary was for 4 nights and 3 days and the chosen destination was Shimla “Queen of hills.” The elegant lakes, splendid greenery, the royal snow-capped mountains, the architecture, and the surroundings enhance the beauty of this place. During the British reign, Shimla was known as the summer capital. For the same, the British presence is evident in most of its buildings and even architecture.

The journey

We started the journey on the 15th night. A point was decided from where the luxury bus picked us. The seats were available on the first-cum-first basis. Apart from us, there were 5 more couples, 2 families and a group of friends. Everyone was kind-hearted, easily approachable and cheerful which made the journey joyful
Since it was an 8-hour long journey, the bus took a break of 30 minutes after 5 hours of the drive at a local Dhaba. Everybody was free to get fresh and choose snacks and beverages as per their concerns. We continued with our journey.
We checked-in the hotel 30 minutes earlier, thanks to the driver. It was followed by breakfast and then rest. Its an Unforgettable experience in Shimla.

Day 1

The itinerary started by the afternoon from the renowned Mall road.

Mall Road

After encountering the place, we realized why Mall road in Shimla is a well-known destination. We came across many cafes, restaurants, book shops and art and handicraft shops for pottery, jewelry as well as woolens. We were mesmerized by the scenic view of the whole Shimla from here. We clicked pictures and had lunch at one of the restaurants that served authentic cuisines. We were awestruck by the elegance of this place and didn’t realize that we have already spent 4 hours. Unforgettable experience In Shimla Though we wanted to stay for a longer period but couldn’t. Our tour guides informed us that we would have to leave for the next location.

The Ridge

We were told that the Ridge is located at the heart of Shimla and connects all major tourist visits. It is an open space, we played in the snow and participated in various snow activities. We were spellbound by the phenomenal beauty of the mountain ranges. The majestic view from the scandal point took our breath away. We also took blessings from the Kalibari temple dedicated to Goddess Kali. It was followed by dinner at a nearby restaurant, after which we came back to the hotel.

Day 2

We were told to be ready for breakfast by 9, as we had to leave for the second-day itinerary.

Green Valley (Viewpoint)

It was easy to see the exclusive beauty of this place that can be compared with any of the foreign destinations. We were informed that it is one of the famous shooting spots for Bollywood movies. It is also an ideal spot for photography lovers as it offers breath-taking views. We got lucky enough to get our photos clicked by our group friends.

Jakhoo temple

Before we reach the destination, we were informed that this temple is located on the highest peak of Shimla. Therefore, it is heaven for those who seek nirvana and photographers. Since this temple is dedicated to the Hindu deity Lord Hanuman, we were warned about the monkeys who may snatch things from us. The temple has vibrant colors and designs on the walls in contrast to the environment, intensifying the appeal of the place. From the saints, we also heard the mythological story behind this temple.

Jakhoo Hill

After receiving blessings from Jakhoo temple, we moved to Jakhoo hill to eyewitness the picturesque view of the Shivalik ranges and its nearby towns. We clicked some pictures and spent some quality time at such a tranquilizing place. Then, we left for our next spot.

Tattapani

While exploring Tattapani, we were aghast to see the hot water spring, which is one of the highlights of this place. The water in the spring is pure and rich in Sulphur. The locals believe that the water is curative as it cures various body and skin diseases. The story and the charm of the place were fascinating, but it was getting dark, we had to leave.
While coming back to the hotel, we enjoyed some of the authentic dishes of Shimla such as Thukpa, Mash daal, Madra, Chha Ghost, and Gabru. These dishes put a perfect end to such an enduring day after which we slept soundly.

Day 3

The third day took off with a morning tea while eyeing on the beauty of Shimla from the hotel’s window. We got ready and had breakfast. We were excited as we were eagerly looking forward to the day.

Kufri

We were excited as this place is a must-visit for nature lovers. Though one can visit Kufri throughout the year, the tour guides explained to us why people mostly visit here in winter. During winter, this place is covered with snow, which makes this place the winter capital of Shimla. To explore this place in the best way, we decided to take horse rides.
We took horse rides, which lead us to the main Kufri that began with the Kufri market.

Kufri market

The market has several shops and stalls that have handicrafts, accessories, woolens, souvenirs, etc. I purchased a few things from the market as a remembrance of this place at reasonable prices. In the main market, you can also ride yaks for the excursion. We also walked through the apple gardens to see the green and red apples hanging in the air. We moved towards the telescope viewpoint. Through the telescope, we recognized a few shooting places where 3 idiots and a few other Bollywood movies were shot.
It was followed by a jeep ride, which took us to Kufri’s adventure resort for its famous go-karting at the world’s one of the highest go-karting tracks. Apart from this, there are other activities as well that you can try.
Since Kufri is open till 5:30 in the evening, sadly, it was time we say goodbye to this gorgeous place.
While coming back to the hotel, there was another adventure park that you may visit. We had to leave for Delhi the same night, we decided to go back to the hotel and rest for a while before we check out.
